A Prayer About Spiritual Gifts

A prayer about Spiritual Gifts

When I wonder what gifts God has given me

Heavenly Father,

I come before you with a request for instruction on my own nature. Well before I was born, you knew who I would be today; before you even laid the foundations of the world, you knew the tasks you would create me to accomplish. Help me to see myself as you do. Grant me insight into the gifts you have placed within me and the ways you want me to share them with the world. Cast my eyes on that part of me that is fashioned perfectly to do your will, bring joy to others, and share your love with this world. Please give me a passion for that part of me that delights you, and give me the courage and dedication to develop that part more fully. Guide me today toward a fuller understanding of who you have created me to be.

In his grace, God has given us different gifts for doing certain things well. So if God has given you the ability to prophesy, speak out with as much faith as God has given you. If your gift is serving others, serve them well. If you are a teacher, teach well. If your gift is to encourage others, be encouraging. If it is giving, give generously. If God has given you leadership ability, take the responsibility seriously. And if you have a gift for showing kindness to others, do it gladly. Romans 12:6-8
