A prayer about Seeking God

When I feel like I’m still searching for God

O Lord,

I want to be closer to you. Please create in me a desire to stay in touch with you every day, just as I stay in touch with my good friends. I invite you to go wherever I go, to see what I see, to be inside my thoughts, to share my joys and sorrows. I know you are always making that kind of effort to reach out to me, and I am so sorry for the times when I ignore you. I want to draw closer to you, for I know how much you love me. You created me. You are the source of my existence and purpose. You even know my future! No one knows more about me than you. So why don’t I seek you out more often? O God, you promise that if I look for you, I will find you. As I get to know you better by spending time with you every day, I am certain I will begin to find the relationship with you that I desire. Then I’m sure I’ll wonder how I ever got along without your love and guidance.
