A Prayer About Needs

A prayer about Needs

When I feel discontented despite having all I need

Dear Jesus,

I feel guilty for feeling discontented, because I have all that I need. I confess that I spend so much energy thinking about what I want and plotting how to get it. I know this is wrong, and I experience such anxiety because of this habit. I’d rather live contentedly in obedience to you than spend my whole life fussing over things. Help me to recognize the difference between things I need and things I want. I pray that my needs would be opportunities for you to show your power and provision and to teach me that you are sufficient. Help me depend on you so that I can find contentment as I see you meet my needs. Please lead my heart to desire the same things that you do.

Don’t love money; be satisfied with what you have. For God has said, “I will never fail you. I will never abandon you.” Hebrews 13:5
