A Prayer About Leadership
A prayer about Leadership
When I want to be a better leader
O Lord,
Just about everyone is placed in a position to lead, be it in a family, at work, at church, or in the community. I want to be a good leader. As I strive to lead effectively, please answer these prayers: May I follow your leading. May I demonstrate godly character by example. May I delegate responsibility to trustworthy subordinates. May I courageously confront those who are doing wrong. May I lead by serving, not by giving orders. May hard times bring out the best in me. May I accept responsibility for my actions. May I consistently do the right thing. May I emphasize others’ accomplishments, not my own. May I know the difference between right and wrong. May I hold myself to a higher standard of accountability. May I take good advice and act on it. May I boldly support righteousness and justice. May I always be faithful to you and rely on prayer. May my foundation be Jesus Christ. And may I be courageous knowing I have the assurance of your presence.
Jesus told them, “In this world the kings and great men lord it over their people, yet they are called ‘friends of the people.’ But among you it will be different. Those who are the greatest among you should take the lowest rank, and the leader should be like a servant.” Luke 22:25-26
