How can I use my imagination for God?

Dear Lord,

Human imagination is a powerful thing. The tower of Babel was conceived out of pride, but the people’s ability to design something so massive suggests there are few limits to what the human mind can imagine. My own imagination is powerful, and it can easily be hijacked by my sinful nature. Whatever controls my thoughts controls my imagination, too. When I’m stuck in a sinful cycle or controlled by a self-centered desire, my imagination easily concocts all kinds of dishonorable plans. O God, you have given me victory through Jesus Christ, so please don’t let my mind be conquered by my sinful nature. Let my thoughts center on your ways so that your character will inspire my imagination. Keep my imagination from becoming a tool for destruction. Rather, let it be a tool for healthy innovation and vision!

Those who are dominated by the sinful nature think about sinful things, but those who are controlled by the Holy Spirit think about things that please the Spirit. So letting your sinful nature control your mind leads to death. But letting the Spirit control your mind leads to life and peace. Romans 8:5-6
