A prayer about Words

When I consider how my words affect others

Loving God,

Let me never get careless and speak as though my words are unimportant. I know that the things I say have enormous impact on those who hear. May what I say never be annoying, complaining, insulting, or demeaning. Instead, help me to choose my words carefully and make them count. Teach me to encourage, inspire, comfort, and challenge those around me. Guide and guard my lips.

Let everything you say be good and helpful, so that your words will be an encouragement to those who hear them. Ephesians 4:29
