A prayer about Satisfaction

When I feel discontented with my life

Lord,

Sometimes I try to meet my deepest needs in ways that just don’t satisfy. When I feel a hunger in my soul, too often I turn to fun, pleasure, or busyness to distract me. These things aren’t necessarily bad, but they will never fill my cravings. Only you can satisfy. You created me to be in relationship with you, and when I don’t make that relationship a priority, I will be dissatisfied. Teach me to recognize my soul cravings for what they are, and to respond to them by spending time with you and your Word. May your Holy Spirit fill me with what I need to make me a strong and mature believer. You are the Living Water, and those who drink from you will never thirst again. Fill me with yourself, Lord. Then I know that I will find the satisfaction that comes directly from you.
