A Prayer About Quitting

A prayer about Quitting

When I am tempted to quit

Lord God,

I’m in a very difficult situation, and I am wondering if it’s time to quit. What should I do? There are no clear reasons to quit, and I believe you called me into this situation. So, Lord, let me be encouraged by the apostle Paul, who persevered through arrests, beatings, and persecution. He knew you had called him to share the gospel with the Gentiles, and nothing deterred him. May I have that same tenacity to keep on with the specific task to which you have called me. If I give up when it becomes difficult, I will miss the great blessing of reaching my goal and serving you. Help me to remember that just because you have asked me to do something doesn’t mean it will be easy. The harder the road, the stronger I will become. I need endurance, Lord. Please give me the strength to keep going even when things get tough. Grant me the faith to follow your lead and move forward with confidence.

We are pressed on every side by troubles, but we are not crushed. We are perplexed, but not driven to despair. . . . We know that God, who raised the Lord Jesus, will also raise us with Jesus and present us to himself together with you. . . . That is why we never give up. 2 Corinthians 4:8, 14, 16
