A prayer about Persecution

When I face scorn or mockery because of my faith

Lord Jesus,

Compared to people in other places in the world, I know I don’t experience much persecution for following you. After all, I am free to worship you without fear of losing my job or being arrested. Yet sometimes I am scorned, mocked, or ignored by others because of my faith. That’s hard for me to deal with. Please remind me that it’s during these hard times that my character is being stretched and my real self is being exposed. Help me to endure whatever persecution comes my way so that all will see that my trust in you is real. Your Word is full of people who hung on to their faith in you no matter what happened. They never stopped trusting you even though they were mocked, persecuted, and in some cases killed. Empower me, Lord, to live boldly for you, no matter what the opposition. May my life have an impact for eternity.
