When I need to obey God

Lord God,

Sometimes I chafe against the idea of obedience. I want to do things my way! But as I study your Word, I realize that your commandments are not burdensome obligations but pathways to a joyful, meaningful, and satisfying life. You call me to obedience because you are committed to my well-being. You created life, so you know the best way to live. Teach me to obey your commands and trust your direction.

God is working in you, giving you the desire and the power to do what pleases him. Philippians 2:13
