A Prayer About Motivation
A prayer about Motivation
When I need motivation in my spiritual life
Father,
When I’ve lost my enthusiasm in my relationship with you, it’s often because my faith has become shallow. If my trust in you lacks depth, there’s no place for the seeds of your Word to grow, no way for them to take root. Then the hot sun of persecution or problems causes my excitement and my sense of purpose to wither. O Lord, may I have the self-discipline to read your Word and spend time in prayer, strengthening my relationship with you. I want to be deeply rooted in you, thriving under your care. As I do that, I know my enthusiasm for my tasks will increase. The joy and gratitude I feel because of you will be the best motivation to go ever deeper.
The seed on the rocky soil represents those who hear the message and immediately receive it with joy. But since they don’t have deep roots, they don’t last long. They fall away as soon as they have problems or are persecuted for believing God’s word. . . . The seed that fell on good soil represents those who truly hear and understand God’s word and produce a harvest of thirty, sixty, or even a hundred times as much as had been planted! Matthew 13:20-21, 23
