A prayer about Kindness

When I contemplate God’s kindness to me

Lord God,

Your abundant kindness is evident all around me. You show it by inviting me into an eternal relationship with you, loving me unconditionally, being patient when I sin, and forgiving me. Giving me time to turn from my sins and choose your way of life shows your kind heart. And your kindness is evident when you meet my physical and spiritual needs: you send the rain, sun, and harvests to care for me physically; you also send spiritual refreshment to care for my soul. Your Word says that you are love—and love is kind. Thank you for showering your kindness on me. May I in turn reflect your character by showering kindness on others.

The LORD is merciful and compassionate, slow to get angry and filled with unfailing love. The LORD is good to everyone. He showers compassion on all his creation. . . . The LORD is righteous in everything he does; he is filled with kindness. Psalm 145:8-9, 17
