A prayer about Mercy

When I’m overwhelmed by God’s mercy

Lord,

You are merciful beyond belief. You pour out your compassion on people—like me—who deserve your judgment. Instead of punishment, you extend forgiveness and the offer of eternal life. I praise you that your mercies never end! You never stop lavishing on me your faithful presence, provision for my needs, and hope for my future. You sustain my life. My very breath is a merciful gift from you!

The faithful love of the LORD never ends! His mercies never cease. Great is his faithfulness; his mercies begin afresh each morning. Lamentations 3:22-23
