A prayer about Gratitude

When I want to cultivate a grateful heart

Lord,

When I take the time to appreciate the little things around me, I experience you in a new way. Turning my focus outward helps me see how many things I have to be thankful for. Help me, Lord, to cultivate a grateful heart, and help me to say “I’m thankful” more often, which will breed gratitude, rather than “I wish,” which breeds discontent.

It is good to give thanks to the LORD, to sing praises to the Most High. It is good to proclaim your unfailing love in the morning, your faithfulness in the evening. Psalm 92:1-2
