A prayer about God’s Presence

When I want to be more aware of God’s presence

Lord,

Your Word tells me that you are with me always, but I’m embarrassed to say I sometimes forget that you are present. You are there, gently speaking to me, but so often I’m just not paying attention. Please forgive me, Lord. I want to live with a constant sense of your presence and in moment-by-moment conversation with you. Help me to be sensitive to reminders of your presence throughout the day. When those reminders come, I need to stop what I’m doing, remember that you have been with me in the previous hours, and ask you to help me in the hours ahead. I need to listen to you, not just talk. I’m so blessed to have you with me, and I want to be aware of this precious gift every moment.

I can never escape from your Spirit! I can never get away from your presence! If I go up to heaven, you are there; if I go down to the grave, you are there. If I ride the wings of the morning, if I dwell by the farthest oceans, even there your hand will guide me, and your strength will support me. Psalm 139:7-10
