A prayer about Determination

When I am resolved to be victorious over Satan

Lord,

I want to be victorious over my struggles and temptations. Your Word makes clear that Satan is determined to gain and keep a foothold in my life, so I have to be even more resolved to drive him away. I’m confident that you are mightier than Satan; you will always defeat him. So I call on you, asking you to fill me with the power of your Holy Spirit. May I grow in my knowledge of Scripture and claim your promises of victory over sin. I need your strength and the armor you have provided, Lord, to fight the spiritual battles I face. The Bible tells me that you promise ultimate victory to all who believe in you and obey you. Please give me the courage and confidence to persevere to the end.

Be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. Put on all of God’s armor so that you will be able to stand firm against all strategies of the devil. For we are not fighting against flesh-and-blood enemies, but against evil rulers and authorities of the unseen world, against mighty powers in this dark world, and against evil spirits in the heavenly places. Ephesians 6:10-12
