A Prayer About Contentment

A prayer about Contentment

When I long to be satisfied

Father,

Whenever I ask myself, How much is enough? the answer always seems to be, Just a little bit more. I depend on material things to make me happy, but the truth is that the more I crave, the less satisfied I am. Your Word tells me that the deepest contentment and joy I can ever experience will come not from pursuing success, pleasure, or material possessions but from pursuing intimacy with you. O God, I want to be satisfied! You are sufficient for me, and my security rests only in you. Your love and your provision are unfailing. What more could I need? As you provide for my needs in times of plenty and times of want, may I stop asking for more but become thankful and content.

I have learned how to be content with whatever I have. I know how to live on almost nothing or with everything. I have learned the secret of living in every situation, whether it is with a full stomach or empty, with plenty or little. For I can do everything through Christ, who gives me strength. Philippians 4:11-13
