A prayer about Communication

When I want to improve my communication

Lord God,

Thank you that we have the gift of communication, which helps us connect with one another in a deeper way. I’m blessed by opportunities to share my thoughts and experiences with others. It’s easy for me to talk, but it’s not always easy for me to say exactly what I mean in a way that’s kind and effective. And often I shy away from any conversation that might involve conflict. Please give me the courage to be honest as I talk with my family, my coworkers, and my friends. Help me to keep the lines of communication open, even when a conversation is awkward or hard. Teach me to use words that are full of grace and truth. May I remember the importance of affirmation and find ways to encourage others with my words each day.

Don’t use foul or abusive language. Let everything you say be good and helpful, so that your words will be an encouragement to those who hear them. Ephesians 4:29
