A prayer about Attitude

When I want to have the attitude of Christ

Father God,

I know that my attitude plays a huge role in how I view life. My attitude affects my actions; what I think about something often determines whether I will do anything about it. But you’re showing me that my actions, inversely, can affect my attitude. Choosing to act the right way will eventually help me to think the right way. My circumstances will sometimes be pleasant and sometimes be difficult, but teach me that the way I react to them is almost more important than the circumstances themselves. Renew my mind, Lord, and enable me to respond with joy and humility to whatever happens, as Jesus did.

You must have the same attitude that Christ Jesus had. Though he was God, he did not think of equality with God as something to cling to. Instead, he gave up his divine privileges; he took the humble position of a slave and was born as a human being. When he appeared in human form, he humbled himself in obedience to God and died a criminal’s death on a cross. Philippians 2:5-8
