A prayer about Adoption

When I am reminded that I am an adopted child of God

Dear Lord,

Thank you for adoption, which is a beautiful example of your love for me. Just as adoptive parents make a choice to give a child a new life, so you chose to give me a new life in you that I could not achieve on my own. People who adopt children decide to lovingly teach and nurture them and give them the rights and privileges that come with being a member of their family. You have done the same for me, and I praise you! I am privileged to receive all your blessings, both in this life and the next.

Even before he made the world, God loved us and chose us in Christ to be holy and without fault in his eyes. God decided in advance to adopt us into his own family by bringing us to himself through Jesus Christ. This is what he wanted to do, and it gave him great pleasure. So we praise God for the glorious grace he has poured out on us who belong to his dear Son. Ephesians 1:4-6
