A Prayer For New Strength

A prayer for New Strength - Soaring in faith

DEAR LORD,

I am so tired. This has been a killer week, with every day bringing new challenges and problems. Thoroughly beaten down, I am discouraged and defeated. I crawled between the sheets and hit the mattress last night totally exhausted, mentally and emotionally, and I awoke this morning dreading another day of work and conflicts and stress. Instead of feeling like an eagle with wings spread, lifted by your wind currents and flying high, I seem to be similar to a grounded barnyard chicken, alone, fenced in, and pecking out a meager existence. I know you have called me to this place and task, Lord, and I’m not giving up and quitting, but I’ve hit the wall. I need new energy to continue, to endure, to live well and finish strong. I trust you to work in and through me; I can’t do this in my own strength. Only by your power will I be able to press on. So I trust you, my Lord. Help me to see the skies. Lift me. Give me wings. Let me soar.

Those who trust in the LORD will find new strength. They will soar high on wings like eagles. They will run and not grow weary. They will walk and not faint. Isaiah 40:31
