A Prayer For Israel
A prayer for Israel - Desiring peace
ALMIGHTY GOD,
Long ago you made your covenant with Abraham and promised to make of him a great nation through whom the whole world would be blessed. Abraham’s progeny would include Israel, your chosen nation, through whom the Messiah would come. Thank you for making and keeping your promise. Because of Abraham and Israel, I am blessed beyond measure. The Messiah has come for me! For centuries, surrounding nations have tried to wipe out your chosen people, the Jews. But you have sustained them, delivering them from Egypt, taking them safely to the Promised Land, and preserving them through pogroms and genocide. O God, the Middle East is aflame, and evil people are continuing to threaten Israel. With David, I pray for “peace in Jerusalem.” Because of Jesus and his salvation, I am a covenant person, so I feel solidarity with the Jewish people. Please protect Israel and give their leaders wisdom to know how to respond to their surrounding enemies. And I pray that thousands of Jews will come to embrace their Messiah—Jesus of Nazareth.
Pray for peace in Jerusalem. May all who love this city prosper. . . . For the sake of the house of the LORD our God, I will seek what is best for you, O Jerusalem. Psalm 122:6, 9
