A prayer about Weeds In Life - Tending the field

DEAR JESUS,

I get so tired of seeing weeds sprout up. I can’t see them at first; they blend in with the grass. But quickly, if I don’t take care of them and use chemicals that get to the roots, they take over the lawn. That’s how sin works—especially seemingly insignificant sins. The seeds are already there, and I may not recognize the weeds at first, but when I do, as your Spirit convicts, I need to zap them immediately. I can’t allow them to take root and grow. This means admitting them and confessing them to you. I’m such a persistent sinner, Lord, so I’m not surprised at this struggle. But I know that only through you can I be the kind of person you want. Help me.

The farmer’s workers went to him and said, “Sir, the field where you planted that good seed is full of weeds! Where did they come from?” “An enemy has done this!” the farmer exclaimed. “Should we pull out the weeds?” they asked. “No,” he replied, “you’ll uproot the wheat if you do. Let both grow together until the harvest. Then I will tell the harvesters to sort out the weeds, tie them into bundles, and burn them, and to put the wheat in the barn.” Matthew 13:27-30
