A Prayer About God’s Knowledge

A prayer about God’s Knowledge - Knowing he knows

ALMIGHTY GOD,

I call you “almighty” because I know nothing can compare to you. Creator of all that is, you are all-powerful and everywhere present. You are also all-knowing, aware of and understanding everything about everything, including every person’s thoughts, attitudes, intents, and actions. So why do I think I can run or hide from you, that I can do something you won’t see? It makes no sense, but I often act that way. I’m like a child playing hide-and-seek who thinks I can’t see her because she has her eyes closed and can’t see me. “Secret sins” may be concealed from family, friends, and neighbors, but not from your sight. And why would I even attempt to hide? You aren’t trying to catch me so you can punish me. You are my loving Father, who wants only the very best for me. You want me to be honest so I can receive all that you want to give. Trying to hide only hurts our relationship. I want to be truthful, sincere, and open with you, Lord, always.

The LORD is a God who knows what you have done; he will judge your actions. 1 Samuel 2:3

God would surely have known it, for he knows the secrets of every heart. Psalm 44:21
