A prayer about Weapons - Waging war

HOLY SPIRIT,

Equip me this day with the weapons I need to battle Satan. I dare not become complacent or self-reliant. This is a spiritual struggle that can be won only through your power. Paul wrote of “strongholds of human reasoning” and “false arguments,” and I face those daily as certain individuals belittle my lifestyle and faith. Clearly the world’s values are the opposite of God’s as presented in his Word; thus most people cannot understand why I think and act the way I do. So they bait me with comments and arguments. At those times I am tempted to jump into a protracted discussion or heated debate in which I may score a verbal point or two but lose the person. I need to depend on you and not on my abilities to reason, argue, and speak. Many obstacles—mostly pride—keep people from knowing you. But those obstacles can only be destroyed through your power as I show the antagonistic individuals love, kindness, and patience and point them to Christ. I need your “mighty weapons.”

We use God’s mighty weapons, not worldly weapons, to knock down the strongholds of human reasoning and to destroy false arguments. We destroy every proud obstacle that keeps people from knowing God. We capture their rebellious thoughts and teach them to obey Christ. 2 Corinthians 10:4-5
