A Prayer About Trust
A prayer about Trust - Taking the right path
ALMIGHTY GOD,
Thank you for hearing my prayers. I usually remember to talk with you about the big issues in life: healing for an injured or sick friend, safety in travels, important decisions, personal crises, ministry events, missionaries, and so forth. That’s probably because I know those issues and situations are beyond my control. But the implication is that I don’t need you as much in the seemingly small issues of life because I can handle them on my own. How foolish! I need to know your will and follow it in all I do. I confess that I make plans, and if Plan A doesn’t work, I move to Plan B, and then Plan C (depending completely on my “own understanding”). Finally, when all else fails, I turn to you. Instead, I should bring my issues and concerns—all of them, big and small—to you first. That should be my first thought, my immediate response. I want to be on the right path, headed in the right direction—directed by you.
Trust in the LORD with all your heart; do not depend on your own understanding. Seek his will in all you do, and he will show you which path to take. Proverbs 3:5-6
