A prayer about Spiritual Gifts - Celebrating God’s generosity

SPIRIT OF GOD,

I praise you for how you have gifted me to serve the church, universal and local. Not only have you created me with a distinct personality and potential and helped me grow in all areas of life, you have also provided a unique gift-mix to use for your glory. None of this was my doing, a result of learning or striving. It is all you. I want to be faithful, to be a good steward of these spiritual gifts. I also pray that I will complement and work together with the other believers with whom I worship and serve. Help me value their giftedness, too, and not expect them to be like me (or me like them). And when I use my gifts and no one seems to notice, help me remember that I am doing this for you and to build the body of Christ, not my reputation or résumé. Holy Spirit, your work is amazing, and to work with my brothers and sisters in Christ is a joy.

He has given each one of us a special gift through the generosity of Christ . . . to do his work and build up the church, the body of Christ. Ephesians 4:7, 12
