O LORD MY GOD,

Every day I drive through life barely noticing anything along the way beyond the cars surrounding me, the roads and highways, the buildings, and the traffic signs. Then I get away from the bustle, daily urgencies, and bright lights of my community and begin to reconnect with nature, and I am amazed at your creativity and might. I watch the sunset’s glorious colors painted across the sky. After dark, bright stars peek through scattered clouds. And on a clear night, a panorama of heavenly lights splashes across my vision. During the day, I see grass, flowers, trees, birds, and small creatures scurrying about. So why am I oblivious to your natural beauty most of the time? Open my eyes to see you in the storm, in the food that sustains me, and especially in each person you put in my path: businessman, grandmother, baby, construction worker, teenager, dad, merchant, child, police officer, and waitress. Each one is a miracle, a powerful testament of your creativity and love. Then seeing them anew, may I worship you.

You alone are the LORD. You made the skies and the heavens and all the stars. You made the earth and the seas and everything in them. You preserve them all, and the angels of heaven worship you. Nehemiah 9:6
