A Prayer About Hope

A prayer about Hope - Living with confidence

ALMIGHTY GOD,

Today I am filled with praise. I used to be lost in my sins and completely without hope, but you called me and drew me to yourself. You saved me and gave me your Spirit, who lives in me, changing, empowering, and guiding. Looking at the problems in a world in chaos, a person could easily become discouraged, but I look up, knowing you are there and in control. Struggling with pressing concerns, broken relationships, or other setbacks and challenges, a person could wonder if life has any meaning or purpose, but I look ahead, knowing you are leading me into the future. Suddenly aware of mortality because of a debilitating illness, a person could be driven to despair, but I look beyond this life, knowing that eternal life with you awaits. I trust and hope in you alone, Lord—not in anything the world offers or in my attributes and abilities or in loved ones and friends. And because my soul and my hope are anchored in you, I can live with confidence and purpose.

We who have fled to him for refuge can have great confidence as we hold to the hope that lies before us. This hope is a strong and trustworthy anchor for our souls. It leads us through the curtain into God’s inner sanctuary. Hebrews 6:18-19
