A Prayer About Faithfulness
A prayer about Faithfulness - Doing God’s work
MY LORD AND KING,
I bow before you, acknowledging that all I am and have belong to you. Regardless of how many years I have lived, they have been few. And I am moving quickly through the rest of the days allotted to me. I pray for strength and courage to finish strong. I want every moment to count for you. As David gave Solomon instructions for building the Temple, he challenged Solomon to keep working and assured him that you would be with him all the way. I need to claim that promise. I know you are with me and will be with me until the end (and beyond). But I also know that I have work to do—in my home, on the job, in the community, at church—wherever you place me. I may not build a temple, but I want everything I do to bring glory to you. Keep me from fear and discouragement, and help me move forward in your strength.
“Every part of this plan,” David told Solomon, “was given to me in writing from the hand of the LORD.” Then David continued, “Be strong and courageous, and do the work. Don’t be afraid or discouraged, for the LORD God, my God, is with you. He will not fail you or forsake you.” 1 Chronicles 28:19-20
