A Prayer About Faith

A prayer about Faith - Being stretched

ALMIGHTY GOD,

Stretch my faith today. I don’t know what that will mean—perhaps giving me the opportunity to give sacrificially to Kingdom work or to take that risk for you that I have been praying about or to boldly share your plan with my friend. Of course, you may urge me to do all those and then provide something else. I know you created everything, including me, and that you are with me and for me. And my hope for salvation rests completely with you because of Christ. I can’t see you, but I see your works—the evidence surrounds me, in nature and, especially, in people, in me. I know that what you have promised will come to pass—you are good and true. When I read about the great men and women in Hebrews 11, I find that they were courageous in following you. Because they believed strongly in you, they stepped out in confident trust. I want that kind of faith.

Faith shows the reality of what we hope for; it is the evidence of things we cannot see. . . . By faith we understand that the entire universe was formed at God’s command, that what we now see did not come from anything that can be seen. Hebrews 11:1, 3
