A prayer about Desires And Power - Sensing internal transformation

TRIUNE GOD,

I love your changes in me. When I first trusted Christ as Savior, I felt immediately as though blinders had been removed. As “Amazing Grace” exclaims, “I once . . . was blind, but now I see”! The world, especially other people, looked different because I began to see them as you do. I also sensed you working on my desires. Before I gave my life to Christ, my thoughts and interests mostly focused on me—what I needed and wanted. But now I want to do your will. My first thought is whether my choice would honor you. Then when I make the right choice, you give me the power to follow through, to do it. Compare who I am now to what I was like at the start of my journey with you, and the differences are obvious. I am not the same person. And considering the direction I was heading, I can’t imagine what I’d be like today. Thank you, Father, for loving and choosing me. Thank you, Jesus, for dying for me. Thank you, Holy Spirit, for transforming me.

Work hard to show the results of your salvation, obeying God with deep reverence and fear. For God is working in you, giving you the desire and the power to do what pleases him. Philippians 2:12-13
