A Prayer About Conquerors

A prayer about Conquerors - Living triumphantly

MY ALMIGHTY SOVEREIGN,

No matter what happens in this world, regardless of what the enemy throws at us, “overwhelming victory is ours through Christ.” When I read this, I picture a victorious army marching through the streets of a liberated city with flags unfurled—announcing peace in the land. And that’s how I’d like to see myself, as one who has conquered the forces of evil. But this passage describes a different sort of victory, because Paul talks about believers being persecuted. Yet they still would be victorious because they would stay true, faithful, and focused. Dear God, continually remind me that nothing can separate me from Christ’s love and that overwhelming victory is mine through Jesus. I do not face troubles and misfortunes alone; he is with me. So I state with confidence that persecutions will not weaken me! Hunger will not discourage me! Destitution will not defeat me! Dangers will not intimidate me! Death threats will not frighten me! I will live triumphantly through Christ!

Can anything ever separate us from Christ’s love? Does it mean he no longer loves us if we have trouble or calamity, or are persecuted, or hungry, or destitute, or in danger, or threatened with death? . . . No, despite all these things, overwhelming victory is ours through Christ, who loved us. Romans 8:35, 37
