A Prayer About Sadness

When I am feeling blue

FATHER,

I’m not sure what’s wrong, but I can’t shake this feeling of sadness. Maybe the cause is as simple as the gloomy weather or just needing sleep. But I don’t like living with a sense of despondency. O Father, pull me close in your loving arms. Whisper words of love and hope. Turn my gaze from myself to you. I love you, Lord. Please restore my joy.

Why am I discouraged? Why is my heart so sad? I will put my hope in God! I will praise him again—my Savior and my God! Psalm 42:11
