A Prayer About Reliance

When I begin to trust in my own strength

GOD,

I have been taught to be independent, disciplined, and self-reliant. But I know that my salvation was by grace through faith—my religious efforts meant nothing. I also know that my growth as your follower depends on you. Yet I keep trying to live for Christ on my own. Forgive me, Lord. I want to rely completely on you.

We rely on what Christ Jesus has done for us. We put no confidence in human effort. Philippians 3:3
