A Prayer About Confrontation

When I should tell someone an inconvenient truth

GOD,

Someone I care about is making bad decisions. I know I should say something, but I’m afraid of rupturing the relationship. The world says personal lifestyle choices are private, but I know different. My friend professes to be a Christ follower, and your Word speaks clearly in these matters. Prepare my friend’s heart to be open to my confrontation. Help me sense the right time to speak up. Please give me the words to say with love.

An open rebuke is better than hidden love! Wounds from a sincere friend are better than many kisses from an enemy. Proverbs 27:5-6
