A Prayer About Making A Good Impression
A prayer about Making A Good Impression
When I am concerned about what others think of me
PRECIOUS SAVIOR,
I admit that I often think about others’ opinions of me personally and what they think of how I look and act. That can be a trap if my focus is on myself. And I can be a phony if my image doesn’t match the real me. But my deepest desire, Jesus, is to make a good impression for you. I want people to see joy, purpose, and hope. My prayer is that people who don’t know I am a Christian will wonder about what makes the difference in my life. And I want those who do know that I follow you to see you in me. My life should radiate a good impression of you and the new life you give. When the crowd is going the wrong way, please give me the courage to stay true, turn, and go your way. In potentially ethics-compromising situations, give me strength to do what is right. During times of crisis and stress, give me faith to rely on you. May people be drawn to you through my life.
This is how the LORD responds: “If you return to me, I will restore you so you can continue to serve me. If you speak good words rather than worthless ones, you will be my spokesman. You must influence them; do not let them influence you!” Jeremiah 15:19
