A Prayer About Loss

When I evaluate my profit-and-loss statement

DEAR JESUS,

Many people measure success with a financial profit-and-loss statement. I know that you turn society’s values upside down, and that a relationship with you is more valuable than anything the world rates as important. So whatever I have “lost” in culture’s view is nothing. I have nothing without you. I want to know you, my Savior.

If you try to hang on to your life, you will lose it. But if you give up your life for my sake, you will save it. And what do you benefit if you gain the whole world but are yourself lost or destroyed? Luke 9:24-25
