A Prayer About Home

A prayer about Home

When I yearn for the end of the journey

HEAVENLY FATHER,

I revel in being your child. Words cannot express the joy I feel knowing that I am yours, in your family. You have given me eternal life, filled me with your Spirit, and marked out my path, guiding every step of the way. Knowing that this life is not the end but just the beginning has filled me with hope as I look beyond. Regardless of how many days I have left in this world, you have prepared a place for me in the next. O Lord, I want to be a faithful follower, doing your will, serving others, and sharing the Good News about Christ, but I long for the moment I will be translated into your presence. I remember as a child being by myself away from my house. Though not far away, I felt lonely and lost. But then I was found and brought home—a joyous reunion. That’s how I feel now, at the edge of heaven. I want to burst through the door and into your waiting arms to live in your house forever.

Surely your goodness and unfailing love will pursue me all the days of my life, and I will live in the house of the LORD forever. Psalm 23:6
