A Prayer About God Moments

When I have a divine encounter

DEAR JESUS,

Wow! What a special, unexpected gift and a dramatic answer to prayer. What happened can only be described as a “God thing,” “God sighting,” or “God moment.” Thank you, Jesus. Actually, I’m not sure why I was so surprised when it happened; after all, I have asked often for your guidance and divine intervention. And in your Word you have promised to always be with me. Why am I so easily lulled into complacency in my relationship with you? Why do I doubt and exclaim, “I can’t believe it!” when you come through? I should stand amazed and humbled every day! Forgive me, Lord, for being insensitive to what you do for me all day. In truth, you are continually giving me those “moments,” but I have not been “sighting” them. Open my heart and my eyes that I might see you and your marvelous deeds. I know you love me and are constantly acting on my behalf. Thank you. I want to live in confidence, knowing that you are with me, upholding me, and working for me.

O LORD my God, you have performed many wonders for us. Your plans for us are too numerous to list. You have no equal. If I tried to recite all your wonderful deeds, I would never come to the end of them. Psalm 40:5
