A Prayer About Eternity
A prayer about Eternity
When I consider our infinite God
AWESOME GOD,
I cannot imagine anything eternal. The concept is far beyond what my limited human mind can conceive—that something has always been, before Creation and time, with no beginning—but I know that something must be “before.” And I can’t begin to conceive that something goes out and on forever, with no end, even though I know that something must continue, out there, far beyond my imagination. But that something is a Someone; it is you, eternal God. You have no beginning and no end. You are out there and in here—everywhere. You are unlimited in every way. I am so small and insignificant, less than a piece of cosmic dust in the universe, which itself is just a speck to you. Yet from eternity past you knew me and chose me as your own. And you love me! Who am I to resist your love? How could I ever think or act against your will? Yet I do—continually. I need to remember my place in your plan, Lord, for I am absolutely nothing without you.
All glory to him who alone is God, our Savior through Jesus Christ our Lord. All glory, majesty, power, and authority are his before all time, and in the present, and beyond all time! Amen. Jude 1:25
