A Prayer About Criticism

When I am the victim of unjust critical comments

GRACIOUS GOD,

The words cut deeply. Someone said my work was substandard, certainly not what it should be. I try to be open to criticism—I’ll always have room for improvement—but this just was not true. The evaluation was nitpicky and small. I don’t know the motive behind the accusation—whether innocent or malicious—but help me respond as Jesus would. May I act in love.

Malicious witnesses testify against me. They accuse me of crimes I know nothing about. Psalm 35:11
