A Prayer About Applying Scripture

When I need to put biblical truth into practice

FATHER GOD,

I have read the Bible for a long time and know many of its major teachings. I have also memorized verses. But living for you means more than knowing; it also involves being and doing—allowing your Word to change my life. Help me to listen more carefully when your Spirit illuminates a passage and to put into practice your truth. Show me how to live your Word each day.

Don’t just listen to God’s word. You must do what it says. James 1:22
