A Reflection On Failure

When I am thinking about the times my faith has wavered

We tend to dwell on our faltering efforts at faith, remembering well the falls we’ve taken along the way to maturity. We should not take them lightly, but neither should we let them define us. Jesus saw Simon Peter’s denial in advance, yet He prayed with confidence that his faith would not fail. In the final analysis, it did not. And that’s what counts with Jesus. Do not let your failures define you. Trust Jesus. He has prayed for you.

I have pleaded in prayer for you, Simon, that your faith should not fail.
