Your Most Common Reminder
Your Most Common Reminder
Our hunger for food is a good thing. It’s what drives us to survive, to be equipped for whatever life throws at us. It reminds us that life is meant to be savored and enjoyed.
But it can also be a source of stress. When we’re hungry, we feel weak. We lose focus. When we’re overweight or sick due to our eating habits, hunger may bring more sorrow than happiness.
The best way to find balance with your hunger is to remember that everything God created points back to Him. Hunger is your most common reminder that you can’t go a day without being in need. And what could you possibly need more than God?
Use your hunger as a way to feed on what you really need, and you’ll find less stress and more joy in the food that’s on your plate.
“I have food to eat that you know nothing about.” . . . “My food,” said Jesus, “is to do the will of him who sent me and to finish his work.” —John 4:32, 34
