Your Job Description
Your Job Description
Becoming a better human being means making better choices. This may seem like a tall order. Isn’t it impossible to know where your choices will lead? Aren’t there myriad variables we can’t control so that our choices are like creating a small ripple in a vast ocean? How can our choices really matter?
While some of those concerns are valid, they don’t excuse not pursuing a life of self-control. First, if you don’t really know where your choices will lead, isn’t it possible that they could have a much greater impact than you imagine?
Second, while there is a great deal out there you can’t control, that’s God’s job. Your job description is to make your choices matter by trusting Him, and making sure your choices, large and small, will honor Him.
Take back control over the choices you make, and leave the rest of the ocean to Him.
It is God who works in you to will and to act in order to fulfill his good purpose. —Philippians 2:13
