Why Are You Here?

Once there was a student sitting down to take his final exam in philosophy class. He expected a mountain of multiple choice and essay questions on the greatest thinkers and the most complicated theories he’d spent all semester studying.

He then opened his exam booklet and saw only three words:

“Why? Please explain.”

After you consider your identity—who you are—the next question should be why?

Why are you here?

Why is the question that points to your purpose. Why were you born at this place and time? Why were you given certain talents, interests, desires? What are you meant to accomplish while here on planet Earth?

Why are you here? If you don’t know, that’s okay. But it’s time to start studying because your final exam will arrive before you know it.
