To Never Know a Stranger

A well-mannered dog knows how to meet new people. He will approach strangers with a friendly excitement, tail wagging, tongue out, panting. Look! It’s someone new. Let’s go greet them!

Perfect strangers will stop with a brightened spirit and give him a soft scratch under the chin. They’ll tell you what a sweet dog you have, and you’ll share in warm fellowship and conversation.

Some people have this talent too. They’ve never known a stranger. The sight of a new person isn’t something to ignore or fear. They make others feel valued with the warmth of their friendship.

While this comes more naturally to some, it can be learned by all. Start each day with a mission to reach out to those you don’t know with warmth and personal interest. Have no agenda but simply to make this stranger your friend.

Whether you wag your tail or stick out your tongue is totally up to you.
