The Same Attitude As Him
The Same Attitude as Him
When we don’t believe in what matters, we live our lives with a bit of a God complex.
We imagine we’re all-knowing when we expect life to always disappoint. We have a godlike sense of entitlement when we’re not thankful. We assert godlike power when we insist on our own way. We live outside time when we’re not ready and willing. We assume a divine right when we take what we believe is ours.
Whether we intend to or not, the image we give off is that the world revolves around us. But God Himself chose a different attitude. He emptied Himself of His divine rights to open up the path to what matters. What right do we have to assume that which God Himself surrendered?
Do you really want to believe in what matters? Then adopt His attitude.
Have the same mindset as Christ Jesus: Who, being in very nature God . . . made himself nothing by taking the very nature of a servant. —Philippians 2:5–7
