The Most Precious Gift

Some parents debate whether to let their kids believe in Santa Claus. They don’t want to lie to them or set them up for disappointment down the road.

But then they remember when they were kids. Every year, they lived in the starry-eyed hope of magic and wonder. Their belief in Santa had to do with more than just the gifts they received. The joy of believing may have been the most precious gift of all.

Choosing a positive attitude is a little like believing in Santa. You can play the realist and feel comfortable that you’ll never be disappointed. Or you can wake up expecting every day to be Christmas. By choosing to believe what your day could be, your day may not change, but you will.

Remember the joy, wonder, and anticipation you once had expecting the arrival of that jolly old elf? You can live like that year-round if you choose to believe.
